I recently had a whole-home water filter and softener installed by Simple Water Solutions, and I couldn’t be more impressed with both the product and the service. From start to finish, Brian made the process simple and stress-free. He explained my options, answered every question, and made sure I understood exactly how the system works. The installation itself was clean and professional. The install team clearly takes pride in their work—everything was set up neatly, the system is easy to access for maintenance, and they walked me through how to check the filters and add salt when needed. That kind of work ethic makes total sense knowing that Brian and the members of his team are veterans of our military. The results have been outstanding. My showers feel better, my skin and hair are noticeably softer, and I don’t see any more water spots on dishes. Laundry feels cleaner, and even my drinking water tastes fresher. It’s a huge difference compared to before. What really stood out was their professionalism and personal touch. You can tell they care about their customers and stand behind the systems they install. I highly recommend Simple Water Solutions if you’re considering a whole-home filter and softener! This is one of the best investments I’ve made in my home.Posted on scott buroker2025-08-21Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m not someone who normally leaves reviews, but I truly feel this will help others out there looking for a water softener and whole-home filtration system. After reaching out to three other companies and dealing with lies, insane price quotes, no-shows, and people who frankly had no idea what they were doing, I was about ready to give up and just live without a system. Then—by a stroke of luck—I found Simple Water Solutions. From the very first phone call with Brian, I felt completely at ease. He was knowledgeable, professional, and respectful. He pulled our local water report and walked me through it, helping me understand everything in a calm, no-pressure way. It honestly felt like two people just having a conversation about water, not a sales pitch. He listened to my concerns, asked questions about our home, what I wanted out of the system, and gave thoughtful, honest input. And here's the kicker—based on the data and our needs, he could have upsold me on a larger unit, but instead recommended a smaller one that actually saved me a decent chunk of money. How often does that happen? The next day, he followed up just to see if I had any questions—again, no pressure. When we talked price, I was blown away. His quote came in 25–30% lower than the other companies I had talked to. I literally asked him what the catch was... but there wasn’t one. They just genuinely care about providing great service. I said, "Let’s do it." Steven, who I later found out is a veteran (as is the company’s owner), handled the install. He texted before arriving, showed up on time (huge deal for me), and was extremely professional. He and his assistant answered every question I had, made sure I was comfortable with the system, and left everything looking clean and sharp. Not only did I save money, but I felt like I mattered as a customer—and I learned more about water than I ever thought I would. You can just tell they care about doing things right. The attention to detail, the courtesy, the transparency... it all exceeded expectations. I know I’m just some stranger on the internet, but if you’re reading this, take 10 minutes and give them a call. What’s the worst that could happen? For me, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for our home. 100% satisfied. Thank you, Simple Water Solutions.Posted on Kathryn Parmiter2025-07-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Another company came through the neighborhood selling water softeners...I was interested because I knew we have hard water, but the guy didn't seem very knowledgeable, and the system seemed very expensive. I looked around and found Simple Water Solutions; Jon came out, did a really good job explaining what's going on with our water and gave some simple options to treat it and they were like 30% less expensive and weren't pushy at all, so we went with them. A couple days later, they installed the system, and we couldn't be happier with how our water feels now! I highly recommend you check them out if you're having issues with your water!Posted on Jennifer Iske Anderson2025-07-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great experience with Simple Water Solutions! Brian, the owner, came out to perform a water test for us. I was honestly surprised at how bad our water quality was coming from the city. He walked us through all of our options without any pressure to buy, which we truly appreciated. Once we decided to move forward, the installation was quick and seamless. Brian and his team did an excellent job. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a water filtration system and/or softener. Plus, it feels good to support a local business!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Do I need a Softener, a Filter… or Both?
A softener removes hardness minerals (scale/spots). A whole-home carbon filter targets disinfectants and tastes/odors. In Central Texas, chloramine is commonly used as the primary water treatment disinfectant for most homes on city water — so we often pair catalytic carbon with the softener to protect resin and significantly improve the life of the softener, as well as improve taste.
But How Do I Know if I Really Need a Water Softener?
Short answer:
If you’re in Central Texas and you’re seeing white spots, scale on fixtures, or dealing with dry skin/dull hair, a softener is the most effective way to stop those issues and protect your home’s plumbing and appliances.
What hard water is doing in your home
Leaves mineral scale on glass, tile, and fixtures (hard-to-remove white film).
Builds up inside water heaters, dishwashers, and coffee makers—reducing performance and shortening lifespan.
Makes soap and detergents work harder (you use more to get the same clean).
Contributes to dry skin, dull hair, and stiff laundry.
What a softener does:
Uses ion exchange to remove hardness minerals (primarily calcium and magnesium) before they move through your plumbing.
Runs on metered-demand cycles so it regenerates only when needed—efficient on salt and water.
When sized correctly to your plumbing size and peak flow, it softens without noticeable pressure drop.
What you’ll notice right away
Fewer spots on glassware and shower doors.
Soaps and shampoos lather better—you’ll typically use less.
Softer-feeling laundry, skin, and hair.
Appliances that run cleaner with fewer scale-related issues.
Common questions (quick hits)
“Will my water taste salty?” No—the sodium added during softening is minimal and generally not noticeable.
“Will it hurt my water pressure?” Not when it’s properly sized. We design around your home’s peak flow and line size.
“Is maintenance a hassle?” It’s simple: keep salt in the brine tank. We set up efficient settings and can provide optional reminders.
“Is it worth it?” Preventing scale helps extend appliance life significantly and reduces cleaning and detergent use—most homeowners find the day-to-day benefits obvious, as well as enjoy the life time of savings they bring.
Who might not need one
If your measured hardness is below ~3 grains per gallon, you may not see a meaningful benefit. We can test or review your city/well report and give an honest read.
